The Software Engineer 1, Data Platform will join a dynamic team responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers large-scale, data-intensive SaaS applications. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to scalable storage systems, batch and stream processing, and orchestration pipelines, while collaborating closely with experienced engineers. Accountabilities · Contribute to the design, development, and operation of core data platform components. · Build tools and services that simplify adoption and scaling of data systems across engineering teams. · Automate infrastructure and operations to improve performance, reliability, and scalability. · Apply GenAI and other advanced techniques to enhance developer and operator workflows. · Collaborate across teams to solve large-scale data challenges and improve platform efficiency. · Take ownership of projects, delivering features end-to-end with guidance from senior engineers. · 1+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with backend, distributed systems, or infrastructure experience preferred. · Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or a similar language (academic, personal, or professional experience counts). · Solid foundation in software engineering fundamentals: data structures, clean code, testing, and debugging. · Interest in learning cloud platforms and technologies such as AWS, Databricks, databases, streaming, and orchestration. · Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and a willingness to ask questions and seek guidance. · Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with strong communication skills.
