Your opportunity:


This role supports the development team in effectively delivering design, development and ongoing maintenance of products and systems to support tactical and strategic business initiatives. This role will require you to be highly responsive to specific requests of internal and external stakeholders. You will be required to identify resource and time requirements of requested work to contribute to project plans and timelines. It will be important to keep a pragmatic approach and maintain key system design fundamentals.

  • Responsible for developing internal applications.
  • Writing great code supported by automated testing (TDD).
  • You will be involved in developing and supporting projects or systems using Java, Apache and Linux technologies.
  • Analyze and fix the existing systems when issues arise.
  • Maintaining/updating critical operational support documentation as part of project deliverables.
  • Effectively collaborate and communication within a team spread across multiple locations.

What You’ll Bring


  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in developing applications in an enterprise level environment.
  • Excellent analysis and programming skills
  • Experience in integrating, customising and supporting commercial off-the-shelf software.
  • Committed to cloud computing – AWS experience would be ideal.
  • Experience with the following tools/technologies:
    • Java
    • Spring Framework
    • Databases Oracle, MySQL
    • Data transport XML/JSON
    • Back-end technologies (SOAP and REST)
    • GitLab/GitHub
    • Linux
    • Amazon Web Services

Ideally, You Will Also Have


  • Strong exposure to API First Development approach
  • Experience consuming and developing REST APIs
  • Good understanding of SOAP services
