About the team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA What you will accomplish: Job Duties: Write high – quality, high performance, and maintainable back-end code while focusing on scalability and efficiency. Estimate engineering efforts, prioritize projects, plan implementations, and triage production issues. Improve existing products, and develop distributed systems powering an internet-scale ecommerce website. Evaluate user needs and desires and translate those into viable designs and products. Partial telecommuting permitted from a commutable distance. What you will bring: Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field. Special Skill Requirements: 1. C++ 2. System architecture and design patterns 3. Git and GitHub 4. Python 5. Distributed computing and parallel programming with lock-free concurrent algorithm 6. Backend Development 7. Latency profiling and system-level optimizations 8. Linux 9. Advanced algorithms and data-structure 10. Advanced techniques in Information Retrieval Salary: $187,741.00-254,200.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
