Job Description The Accounting, Cost & Fees EU team, part of the Banking Core Domain, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Software Engineer to join our innovative team in Berlin, Germany. Design and build efficient, high‑performance backend solutions Develop scalable, reusable code and continuously improve code quality and automation Implement, test, and document new features for our Accounting Products Customize and enhance our accounting platform while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and financial‑industry requirements Proactively identify, document, and resolve defects, including ongoing maintenance and improvement of existing functionality Optimize system performance across services and integrations Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams and strengthen engineering standards through active participation in code reviews Work with SQL, PL/SQL, and Avaloq Script - Avaloq’s domain‑specific language for implementing business logic and core‑banking customizations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in PL/SQL development Strong expertise in Oracle database systems and SQL Proven ability to design and optimize complex SQL queries and develop efficient stored procedures Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Java) is considered an advantage Experience in API development, system integration, and database management Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities Strong teamwork and collaboration skills within an agile environment Willingness to learn and understand complex business and financial‑domain concepts Experience in banking software development - especially with Avaloq or an ACCP certification - is a strong advantage Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies Additional Information We realize that managing work life balance is a challenge we all face in our daily lives and in order to support with this we are pleased to offer hybrid and flexible working for most of our Avaloqers to maintain work life balance and still continue our fantastic Avaloq culture in our global offices.
