In one sentence Responsible for the design, development, modification, debugging, maintenance, and production ongoing support of software systems. Works on specific modules, applications, or technologies, handling sophisticated assignments throughout the software development lifecycle. What will your job look like? Be accountable for and own specific modules within an application and provide technical support and guidance during solution design for new requirements, problem resolution for critical/complex issues, and production ongoing support for the applications in scope, while ensuring code is maintainable, scalable, and supportable. Present demos of software products to partners and internal/external customers, using technical knowledge to influence the direction and evolution of the product/solution. Investigate issues by reviewing/debugging code and providing fixes and workarounds; review changes for operability, maintain existing software solutions, highlight risks, and help mitigate them from a technical perspective. Drive continuous improvements and efficiencies in software and business processes by using software engineering tools, innovative techniques, automation, and reuse of existing solutions to reduce complexity and improve response time and end-user experience. Represent and lead discussions related to product, application, modules, or team activities (e.g., technical design reviews) and establish strong relationships with internal customers and partners. All you need is... • Bachelor’s degree in Science / IT / Computing or equivalent. • 7–8 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Software Support Engineer. • Awareness of programming concepts and ability to write software code in at least one programming language, preferably Java. • Experience supporting production applications. • Knowledge of GCP (Google Cloud Platform). • Experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
