Description

WHAT IS ANSIBLE HEALTH?

We’re a Series A Health-Tech startup backed by Bessemer, First Round Capital, AlleyCorp, Breyer Capital, B-Capital, Inflect Capital, Gaingels, D. E. Shaw & Co, and a few amazing angels. Our medical group cares for patients directly, and we leverage technology to make that care possible at scale. As a result, we use a ton of automation and machine learning to make ours and our patients’ lives easier. We also publish groundbreaking research in leading journals like Nature and PLOS, demonstrating our commitment to innovation. We’re not just building software; we’re building a better way to deliver healthcare. We’re partnering with leading healthcare systems nationwide, and our mission is to genuinely improve patient outcomes, not just optimize metrics. If you’re passionate about transforming healthcare through technology, join our diverse team in making a real impact.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Programming Languages: Familiarity with C# and Python. Hands-on experience with modern frameworks, APIs, and full-stack development is a plus.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Exposure to Microsoft Azure services (Compute, Storage, Databases). Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) knowledge is a bonus.
  • Automation & Workflows: Understanding of workflow automation tools like n8n or equivalent platforms.
  • AI/ML & LLMs: Basic-to-intermediate experience integrating AI/ML features—such as Azure Cognitive Services, Bedrock, OpenAI, Claude, or Vertex—into applications.
  • Security & Compliance: Awareness of data security best practices and the importance of compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA) in healthcare.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work alongside product teams, clinicians, and other engineers.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MORE JUNIOR CANDIDATES (0-2 YEARS):

  • Top-Tier Education: Must have graduated from a top 10 Computer Science program (e.g., MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, etc.).
  • Portfolio of Projects: Possession of an active GitHub repository demonstrating ML projects or contributions to open-source projects. Projects should showcase your ability to implement machine learning algorithms, work with data, and integrate ML models into applications.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE AT A GLANCE

As a Junior to Early Mid-Level Software Engineer at our AI-driven healthcare startup, you’ll have the chance to work on a wide range of challenges: integrating advanced AI and LLM (Large Language Model) features, automating data workflows, and building robust full-stack solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with a diverse group of stakeholders—Product Managers, Clinicians, Tech Ops, and Customer Service Representatives—to create scalable, secure, and compliant applications that handle sensitive healthcare data.
Our current tech environment centers around C#, Python, and Microsoft Azure. We leverage tools like n8n for automation, and are pushing the boundaries with ML and LLM stacks (Azure’s AI services, Bedrock, OpenAI, Claude, Vertex). You’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow quickly, working in a startup setting that moves at lightning speed and encourages innovation at every turn.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Build and maintain core backend services in C# and Python that supports our AI-driven healthcare solutions.
  • Integrate advanced AI and LLM capabilities into key product features and workflows.
  • Utilize n8n (or similar tools) to automate data pipelines and operational processes.
  • Work with the product and compliance teams to ensure data integrity, security, and adherence to healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in architectural discussions, brainstorming sessions, and code reviews—helping to shape our technology roadmap and improve our development processes.
  • Continuously refine code, infrastructure, and workflows to support rapid growth, adaptability, and innovation.
