Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer (Mid-level) providing application support at UTS, you will provide technical expertise to support and enhance the university’s IT environment. You will contribute to the development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications and services that align with UTS’s strategic goals.
This role offers the opportunity to work within an agile team, leveraging your technical skills to design, configure, and optimise technology solutions that elevate the end-user experience and ensure the smooth operation of systems across the university.

A Day in the Life of a Software Engineer (Application Support) at UTS

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to provide uninterrupted services and support for staff and student users of UTS systems,primarilysupporting applications and tools in the digital learning ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and integrate solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to contribute to team success.
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for knowledge sharing.
  • Provide input on technology enhancements, contributing to the evaluation and integration of new features.
  • Assist with the training and empowerment of users, ensuring they can maximise the benefits of UTS’s technology.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and offer insights to improve system capabilities and operational efficiency.
