This is more than just a coding job. As an Associate Software Engineer, you will contribute directly to critical national security initiatives by developing cutting-edge software solutions. You’ll work alongside brilliant engineers and industry veterans on a variety of projects, including the Minotaur Mission Processor.
About the Minotaur Mission Processor: Minotaur is a mission management tool that ingests data from various sensors on surveillance aircraft to enhance the ability of military operators to identify sea and land targets. It is utilized across all branches of the military.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 0 years of experience; or a High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience with software development of algorithms, computer networking, and interfaces in a Linux environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
  • Willing to work in Hanover, MD.
  • Willing to travel 10-20% of the time.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience or desire to develop software using C++, Java, JavaScript, or related languages in a Linux environment.
  • Highly creative and interested in tackling novel challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply educational background to real-world engineering problems.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

You will join a highly regarded team to develop prototype solutions for critical military operational needs. Your work will involve research, conceptualization, design, implementation, and evaluation. Current projects focus on improving the exploitation of airborne sensor data through object tracking, multi-sensor correlation, and operational data display.

POSSIBLE DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Designing and implementing proof-of-concept prototypes using a variety of engineering disciplines, such as control theory, signal/video processing, machine learning, and AI.
  • Supporting system integration events on various aircraft during ground and flight tests.
  • Developing software interfaces to control and collect data from sensors.
  • Designing and implementing graphical user interfaces to meet customer demands.
  • Potentially flying on aircraft to support system integration and train operators.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications and systems with logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to plan and design electronic data processing systems.
  • Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems and ensure software standards are met.
