KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with COBOL and SQL, including relational database design and query optimisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in superannuation or similar financial services environments.
  • Knowledge of Appian and experience developing within cloud-based platforms.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for Agile delivery and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to support peers and make informed technical decisions.
  • Expertise in code branching, version control, and deployment pipelines.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Australian Retirement Trust (ART) is seeking a skilled and collaborative Software Engineer to join our Enablement team within the Technology business unit. This role is central to designing, developing, and supporting high-quality application solutions that help maintain ART’s market-leading position. You’ll work across a range of platforms and technologies, contributing to continuous improvement and delivering robust, scalable software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, test, and support application solutions aligned with ART’s strategic goals.
  • Analyse and implement changes based on business requirements, including unit testing and documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents and problems across systems and services.
  • Configure software and participate in systems testing for platform-specific solutions.
  • Maintain and apply deep knowledge of relevant technologies and provide technical advice to stakeholders.
  • Use version control and deployment tools to support release activities and manage code branching.
  • Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and design activities across multiple platforms.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support team collaboration and peer development.
