Senior .NET Engineer | Permanent | Sydney

We’re partnering with a major Australian financial services organisation on a permanent Senior .NET Engineer opportunity within a complex, business-critical application environment.

This is not a pure greenfield role. The successful engineer will be comfortable working across a mature .NET estate, supporting existing applications while also delivering new APIs, integrations and improvements across a broader enterprise platform.

What you’ll be working on

• Hands-on development across C# and ASP.NET
• Building and enhancing REST / Web APIs
• Supporting and improving mature .NET applications
• Complex enterprise integrations
• SQL Server development, query optimisation and performance tuning
• Application security, authentication and authorisation
• Production support and root-cause analysis
• Broader solution design across interconnected systems
• Working with technical and business stakeholders to understand problems and deliver practical solutions

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands-on C# / .NET experience
• ASP.NET and Web API experience
• Strong OOP and .NET fundamentals
• Deep SQL Server knowledge, including performance tuning and query optimisation
• Experience with API and application security
• Comfortable working in legacy or mature application environments
• Strong troubleshooting and production support capability
• Ability to understand wider system dependencies and contribute to solution design
• Enterprise experience preferred, but financial services is not essential

The key requirement is technical depth. We’re seeking someone who remains genuinely hands-on and is comfortable working in a complex legacy environment.

Location: Barangaroo, Sydney

Working model: Hybrid, 2–3 days per week in office

Salary: $140k–$170k base + 12% super + $15k bonus

The interview process includes a technical assessment followed by technical and leadership interviews.
