ABOUT THE ROLE:

Confluent’s infrastructure organization includes an engineering team focused on understanding, and lowering our cloud provider costs within AWS, Azure and GCP. We ingest billing data from each of these cloud providers and run it through a data pipeline that attributes spend across various business dimensions. This data set is used to provide reporting and alerting to engineering teams as well as to enable advanced business analytics such as unit economics and per-customer margins. These insights are also used to drive architectural improvements across the platform on all engineering teams, giving the team a unique ability to have direct business impact. The Traffic Data Plane team’s mission is to build a programmable, reliable, performant, and secure network data plane platform that provides seamless North-South and East-West connectivity for Confluent Cloud applications and services.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Develop services using Python and GoLang
• Contribute to a data pipeline using SQL, DBT and GCP BigQuery
• Work with other engineering teams to ensure cost-optimal architectures
• Work closely with business and data teams to ensure dashboards and alerts give the business the data they need to understand product costs and margins
