Accountabilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based backend services and data-processing components.
• Build scalable solutions for data ingestion, transformation, processing, and system integration.
• Design and implement reliable backend and data services that support enterprise applications and high-volume workloads.
• Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to system architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production operations.
• Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability of application and data services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects, production incidents, and technical issues across both application and data layers.
• Work with data platform technologies such as Spark, Kafka, and other large-scale data processing tools.
• Support cloud-based infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and data pipeline operations.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to clean coding standards, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.
• Apply appropriate security practices and contribute to systems aligned with relevant ISO, SOC, or similar security standards.
• Ramp up quickly on existing systems, technologies, and processes while maintaining a strong focus on delivery and quality.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in backend and data-focused environments.
• Strong hands-on Java development skills and experience building production-grade backend services.
• Experience working with data-oriented systems, ETL processes, data processing workflows, or backend data services.
• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, distributed application architecture, and system integration.
• Experience with Spark, Kafka, or other large-scale data platform and processing technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD practices, and data pipeline operations.
• Experience supporting high-volume or enterprise-scale applications and services.
• Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within collaborative Agile engineering teams and cross-functional environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to quickly understand existing systems and begin contributing effectively.
• Strong delivery focus, attention to quality, and ownership of application and data engineering work.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices, including standards and controls aligned with ISO, SOC, or comparable frameworks.
