Software Engineer–Embedded (Embedded) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is looking for Embedded Software Engineers (Associate or Experienced) to join the AvionX Mission Systems Software team located in Long Beach, California. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Technology & Innovation Software Engineering organization. Our engineers create systems to help pilots navigate through complex and nuanced situations to safely achieve their mission. We accomplish this by solving difficult problems in optimal path planning, estimation, and control, as well as autonomous fault protection. We strive to work from first principles and develop powerful abstractions to maximize capability while minimizing complexity. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers. Position Responsibilities: Supports the design, development, test, debugging and maintenance of software that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards. Assists with review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into the design of software products for embedded devices and systems. Supports building and writing code for embedded systems software to run on specific specialized hardware. Contributes to integration of embedded software with hardware components. Supports analysis, monitoring and improving the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems. Participates in testing and debugging software for embedded devices and systems. Supports implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development and hardware technologies. Supports tracking and evaluation of internal and supplier software team performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards. Assists with performing embedded software project management functions. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): 1+ years of experience in embedded software development Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Level 2: 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Level 3: 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Experience developing software or simulations with MATLAB, Simulink, C++, or Python Experience developing software for real-time, near real-time, or embedded systems.
