Job Summary: We’re looking for a Software Engineer (Forward Deployed) to join our customer engineering team. You’ll work directly with enterprise clients to design, implement, and scale real-world solutions powered by our platform. Job Description: As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to drive material change in businesses owned by Volaris. You’ll embed with business units, map out their critical workflows, and build AI-powered systems that deliver measurable improvements in revenue, margin, and customer experience. You’ll fly on-site to work directly with operators, understand their real problems, and own the delivery of your solutions from prototype → deployment → adoption. This isn’t about theoretical demos — you’ll build production systems that reshape how knowledge work gets done, and you’ll see the direct business impact of your code. You’ll leverage AI tools throughout the entire software development lifecycle to rapidly drive value. While you may have natural specialties, we expect full-stack capability accelerated by AI — no dedicated frontend, backend, or DevOps silos. What You’ll Do Value Creation Projects (3-6 months): Embed on-site with business units to deeply understand workflows and pain points Build and deploy AI-powered solutions that solve materially hard problems (re-platforming, process automation, innovative features) Own delivery from prototype through production deployment and user adoption Deliver measurable business outcomes: revenue growth, margin improvement, or customer experience gains Applications Projects (Long-term): Build and maintain Volaris-focused applications that drive sustained value across business units Provide ongoing support, roadmaps, and feature development for production systems Evolve applications based on user feedback and changing business needs Technical Execution: Architect AI agents: Tool-using, retrieval-augmented systems with structured outputs and auditable actions Build production systems: APIs, data pipelines, frontends; implement CI/CD, logging, and monitoring Integrate deeply: Connect with CRMs, ERPs, legacy systems via APIs, webhooks, or custom integrations Debug and optimize complex systems across cloud and on-prem infrastructures Run evaluations: Track quality, performance, latency, and cost of AI systems What You Bring Required: 2–5 years of professional experience shipping production systems (Python, TypeScript, Java, .NET, or similar) Strong experience working with APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems AI systems expertise: Experience with LLMs, function calling, embeddings/vector DBs, RAG, or agent orchestration Full-stack mindset: Willingness to work across frontend, backend, and infrastructure with AI assistance Customer fluency: Ability to conduct discovery, scope work, and communicate clearly with business stakeholders High ownership and bias to action — you ship and iterate quickly Comfort working directly with business unit operators and technical teams Ability to thrive in ambiguous, high-impact environments Nice to Have: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Prior work in AI, analytics, or enterprise SaaS deployments Familiarity with customer success, implementation, or consulting roles Ex-founder or founding engineer experience Experience with eval frameworks, observability tools, and production AI systems Why You’ll Love It You’ll work on meaningful, high-impact projects where your code directly powers real business outcomes.
