Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer with expertise in Apex, Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, Middleware and strong experience in software application design. This position reports to the Director of Applications and Data and serves as a member of cross-functional teams supporting the needs of faculty, staff, and students at the McCombs School of Business. The scope of this role includes designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable, high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in both backend and frontend development, as well as in designing application architectures that drive digital transformation.
The work involves developing an understanding of the business needs; eliciting, documenting, and clarifying requirements; designing, developing, and testing applications, databases, and business intelligence solutions; integrating custom, commercial, and software-as-a-service applications. A strong candidate has a clear understanding of designing and developing applications that are secure, scalable, reliable, and easy to use. Strong communication skills and teamwork are highly valued.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement custom applications and solutions to support business processes.
Perform software integration testing, facilitate user acceptance testing and support production validation.
Lead and participate in the design of system architectures and data flows, ensuring seamless integration between front-end, back-end, and external systems.
Perform regular system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting, ensuring IT application infrastructure is running optimally.
Participate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including business requirements gathering, high level architecture decisions, cost estimates and production release support.
Other related functions as assigned.
