About the Role This is an opportunity to join a product-focused engineering team that plays a critical role in shaping how our customers access and experience their workplace. The team is responsible for designing, building, and evolving the digital capabilities that enable customers to seamlessly provision, manage, and use their physical and mobile credentials across their workplace and broader ecosystem. As a Software Developer (intermediate or enthusiastic junior) in this team, you’ll work on systems that are foundational to identity, access, and trust. Your work will directly impact customer onboarding, day‑to‑day usability, and overall confidence in our solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and platform teams to deliver reliable, secure, and intuitive experiences, balancing technical excellence with a strong understanding of customer needs. This role offers the chance to work on meaningful, customer‑facing problems at scale, contribute to modern software engineering practices, and help shape solutions that sit at the intersection of digital and physical experiences. Key responsibilities: • Design, develop and maintain software components and the integration of cloud services. • Break down, refine and estimate work. • Ensure quality and secure coding through best practices, testing, and peer reviews. • Optimize system performance and scalability. • Collaborate with the squad and others in an agile environment. • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and development trends to continuously improve team capability. You’ll bring: • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience • 3+ years of commercial development experience, or strong enthusiasm and demonstrated learning ability for junior applicants • Proficiency in C# • Experience working with SQL databases – PostgreSQL, SQL Server or similar • Experience in RESTful API development • Experience with CI/CD using Azure Pipelines or GitHub Workflows • Experience working in agile product-focused teams • Experience with C++, mobile development, and access control systems- including traditional card-based and emerging digital/mobile credential technologies (desirable) Working at Gallagher You’ll be part of a global, future-focused organisation where engineering talent is valued and supported.
