JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Game Developer to join our interdisciplinary team. This role is pivotal in creating engaging, educational game experiences that embody our Play-to-Learn and Make-to-Learn philosophies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in game development and a keen interest in leveraging games as powerful learning tools.

Salary Range ; $60,000 - $70,000

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in game development tools and engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with AI integration in gaming environments.
  • Strong understanding of educational theories and how they can be applied within game design.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience in developing educational or serious games.
  • Familiarity with adaptive learning technologies.
  • Background in instructional design or educational technology.
  • Knowledge of software/programming principles to assess, design, and adapt, as necessary, to facilitate effective use of code in the research environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant software engineering practices and design methodologies; knowledge of principles, practices, developments, and techniques used in systems analysis and applications programming.
  • Skill in designing and implementing software applications; analyzing pre-existing software to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues and requests; escalates potential conflict situations to appropriate internal and/or external parties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement interactive game experiences that facilitate learning through play and creation.
  • Collaborate with educators, researchers, and designers to integrate educational content seamlessly into game mechanics.
  • Utilize AI and adaptive technologies to personalize learning experiences within games.
  • Participate in the full game development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and iteration.
  • Contribute to research initiatives aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of game-based learning methodologies.
