By developing new hardware and software products that can understand human appearance, movement and expression, we aim to make it possible for people to feel like they are directly in front of each other, despite being separated by vast distances.Developer Platforms team supports all the various build paths available to 3P developers to build for Meta Quest: Unity, Unreal, Spatial SDK, Web XR and Horizon Worlds.As a Software Engineer in Developer Platforms , you will reduce friction and cost for 3P developers by creating Tools and Frameworks across the various build paths that make building for Quest and Horizon Worlds easier than ever.Together, let’s step into the adventure of a lifetime as we make science fiction real, and change the world.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years experience building and shipping commercial 3D software in C/C++, C# or similar language.
  • 6+ years experience with either proprietary or commercial 3D engines (Unity, Unreal, etc).
  • Experience in any of the following: developing 3D pipelines (processing models, scenes, textures, materials or animation), developing software within the game development, Augmented Reality or Virtual Reality or experience building interactive real-time 3D products.
  • 2+ years experience in any of the following: computer graphics, rendering, physics-based simulation, 3D character animation, advanced optimisation techniques, or games middleware/tooling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience with Unity or Unreal engines
  • 3+ years of experience with Tooling for game developer
Responsibilities
  • Tech Lead a team of game play engineers with experience across Unity, Unreal, Spatial SDK, Web XR and Horizon World
  • that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area
  • Communicate and show empathy to third party developers. Their success is the only measure of our success.
  • Design tools and core components up and down the software stack, with a focus on making it easy for third party developers to use our Meta APIs / SDKs.
  • Work with your team and cross functional partners to drive roadmap creation
