Description

About the job

There aren't many software engineering jobs where you can genuinely say the thing you're building might help get potentially life changing medical technology into the hands of patients faster.

But…this is one of them.

I'm working with a rapidly growing technology business operating at the intersection of software, AI and healthcare, helping some of the world's most ambitious medical technology companies navigate the incredibly complex world of regulatory approval.

They're growing their engineering team and looking for an experienced Software Engineer with Clojure experience to join them.

The problems they're solving aren't straightforward.

You'll be building products that help streamline complex regulatory processes without compromising safety or quality, working across their stack and collaborating closely with engineers, product people, designers and regulatory specialists.

And they're pretty opinionated about how good engineering teams should work.

There are no daily stand-ups, very few scheduled meetings and no fixed working hours (Read that again 🤯) Collaboration is largely asynchronous, people are trusted to make decisions and you're given the autonomy to choose the tools that help you do your best work.

Here’s what you’ll need to apply:

  • Professional Clojure experience is the big one, alongside a strong background in full-stack web development.
  • My client are looking for people who are curious, comfortable thinking from first principles and genuinely enjoy solving difficult problems rather than simply picking up the next ticket from a backlog.
  • Experience within health tech, medical technology or regulated environments would be useful, but isn't essential.
  • This is a remote first role and you can be based anywhere within roughly 2 hours of the UK timezone. The team gets together at their London office for a week at least twice a year, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling in for those sessions.
