Software Engineer, Go/Golang

Pexip is seeking a talented Software Engineer,Go/Golang to join our Engineering organization. As a member of our team, you will be working alongside engineers based in the UK and Norway. You will have shared responsibility for the continuous running and improvement of our Pexip Service offering, which is relied upon by companies worldwide for business-critical communication.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must have 5+ years of experience working as Software Engineer or Developer
• Work with a team to design, build, test and deploy backend services using Go.
• Work closely with other engineering, product, and support teams to define, design and implement new features.
• Set up and monitor GCP resources using Infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Instrument services with industry standard monitoring tooling including logging, metrics and tracing. You can expect to be using Grafana, Prometheus and Loki to create dashboards and alerting.
• Focus on writing clean, maintainable code that is well-tested.
• Be proactive in identifying and making improvements to our existing code base.
• Actively participate in resolving incidents that occur during working hours.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU ARE LIKELY TO HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:

• Proficient writing backend services using Go in a production environment.
• Experience working with public cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS).
• Deployment of cloud resources using Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
• Great written and spoken English, including the ability to learn about and discuss complex architectures with other developers.
• Have worked with modern cloud technologies such as containers and Kubernetes.
