We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Systems/Commissioning Engineer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you will lead the installation, commissioning, testing, and upgrade of complex roadside systems that support innovative mobility and transportation solutions. Working at the forefront of transport technology, you will play a key role in delivering high-reliability systems that keep critical infrastructure operating safely, efficiently, and effectively.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead roadside systems installation, commissioning, testing, and upgrade activities across projects.
  • Collaborate with Solution Centers during design and planning phases, reviewing designs and recommending improvements to ensure compliance with technical and customer requirements.
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage engineering and design documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, installation standards, and commissioning procedures.
  • Coordinate onsite activities, including contractor supervision, customer engagement, and resource management.
  • Contribute to project planning, scoping, and delivery of new system implementations.
  • Provide technical input and resource estimates for new customer proposals in partnership with Sales.
  • Develop and deliver technical training materials while mentoring engineers and technicians across Delivery and Operations teams.
  • Monitor system performance and provide technical support to maintain availability and reliability.
  • Analyze system data, logs, and diagnostics to identify issues and implement solutions in collaboration with Solution Centers.
  • Track, manage, and communicate technical support issues with stakeholders and customers.
  • Maintain expertise across networking, Linux, Windows, SQL, and Microsoft Office environments.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering, electrical, and HSSEQ standards and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate product documentation and records related to system faults, maintenance, and performance.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations for training sessions, customers, and corporate events.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Degree qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience installing and commissioning high-reliability systems within transportation, communications, or similar industries.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities in complex IT environments.
  • Solid technical knowledge of databases, networking, Windows, Linux, and Microsoft technologies.
  • Understanding of electrical standards and Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
  • Current Australian driver's licence.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform successfully in dynamic project environments.

Reporting to the Applications Manager, the successful applicant will assist with software development, testing, technical documentation, systems support and business improvement projects.

Requirements

The successful applicant will preferably have:

  • Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Proficient in Programming, including C# and Java
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with users and document technical solutions
  • Australian work rights
