Description Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for a Software Engineer I. This is an onsite position located in Rome, NY. In this role you will contribute to the research, engineering design and development of software in support of Trusted Systems. What You'll Do: Develop, debug, and test different software solutions with oversight from senior technical staff Work effectively within a Linux-based development environment Work with senior engineers to design and develop software Contribute to an agile environment with an integrated team of developers, testers, and investigators Contribute to technical documentation Education/Experience/Skillset Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field of study and 0-2 years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with C/C++ or Rust Competency with Python, Go, Bash or other scripting languages Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL Experience working in a Linux environment Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts Strong foundation in operating systems, data structures and programming fundamentals Familiarity with virtualization / containerization (e.g., docker, KVM, VirtualBox, Xen) Ability to understand and describe technical software systems Security Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance Travel: Less than 10% AA / Disability / Veteran US Salary Range: $88,000 - $137,000 The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
