EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • 2+ years’ relevant experience in a multi-platform environment including, but not limited to application or database development.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in JavaScript
  • 2-3 years’ experience in SQL design/support.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in development of applications using .NET technology.

Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE:

North Wind Solutions (NWSOL) is a government contracting small business with operations at military and civilian installations across the United States. The Richland site project’s primary focus is providing mission critical support for the Hanford site in the areas of Cyber Security, IT Infrastructure deployment and management to include network operations, End User Support services, Application Engineering with emphasis on software development and support, Records Management, and Project Management for the execution across the spectrum of provided services.
The Software Engineer II is part of a strong team providing software engineering support to design, develop, operate, and maintain software programs. Software engineering support also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and implementation functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The software engineer will provide development and support for Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products, as well as a variety of customized applications. This position will support the Hanford Site Service Catalog using the PMG software platform. This will include the development of customized screens, the designing and administration of workflows, and SQL database support. This position could also involve .NET and other programming languages with back-end databases developed in SQL Server. Responsibilities may include the operation and maintenance support for legacy systems and website applications.

The software engineer will perform the following, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot software production issues
  • Design databases
  • Design PMG software platform screens and workflows
  • Understand and follow established Software Development Process
  • Assist with providing estimates
  • Assist with gathering requirements from customers
  • Assist with developing technical documentation
