Overview OneDrive and SharePoint are rapidly growing services at the center of Microsoft's cloud, interacting with almost every part of Microsoft. We are looking for a Software Engineer II- Backend. You will be collaborating with a team of amazing engineers and other teams across Microsoft to deliver large scale distributed architecture and features to meet OneDrive and SharePoint's service needs. You will be improving database and system performance and efficiencies, along with ensuring zero customer impact throughout the change management cycle. You will deliver systems to meet our business continuity planning goals, provide telemetry for optimizing the service and drive down our response time for detecting and resolving service issues. Responsibilities You will work in large-scale distributed systems that are critical for customers around the world.You will design and deliver services that manage internet-scale data stores, enable best-in-the-world file and site browsing and editing performance, or add innovative features to how people manage and interact with their data. You will contribute to and help shape the vibrant, inclusive engineering culture of OneDrive & SharePoint. You will be expected to do deep, data-driven, collaborative design for additions and changes to our products. You will write clean, efficient code and comprehensive tests. You will build excellent coverage with metrics and telemetry to ensure we understand exactly what is happening with our services at all times. You will deliver features that will support and serve hundreds of millions of customers around the world. Embody our culture and values Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. #ODSPEng Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
