EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
  • Hands-on experience with modern frameworks and libraries (React, Angular, Spring Boot, .NET Core).
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

NOTE:- ALTHOUGH THE ROLE CATEGORY SPECIFIED IN THE GPP IS REMOTE, THE REQUIREMENT IS FOR HYBRID WORKING MODEL FROM CUMMINS PUNE OFFICE.

The Software Engineer II is responsible for building high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software solutions in line with Cummins standards and business needs. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and implementing software applications, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business value. The engineer will play a key role throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with coding standards, security practices, and technical design requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable and secure software solutions by analyzing requirements, studying systems flow, and evaluating feasibility.
  • Collaborate with users, product owners, designers, and testers to understand business needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including flowcharts, layouts, system specifications, and user guides.
  • Participate in solution definition, modeling, and architecture to ensure functional fit and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to coding and testing standards, and apply Agile best practices throughout the SDLC.
  • Perform system analysis and recommend improvements to enhance performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Support software deployment, integration, and maintenance, while ensuring compliance with IT asset protection, governance, and regulatory requirements.
