Job Description Summary
Mastercard is looking for a brilliant and passionate software development engineer to drive our customer experience strategy forward by building innovative solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. Responsible for the analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions. Defines requirements for new applications and customisations, adhering to standards, processes and best practices

  • In this role, you will be a key member of a highly agile team of engineers working to build commerce products at a global scale.

  • This engineering team will have a diverse focus both in terms of geography and variety of technology challenges
  • Work with a team of backend & frontend developers and designers to solve real world client challenges.
  • Write code to do unit testing, integration testing, contract testing, and functional testing.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and deliver results.
  • Apply best development practices to write well designed, maintainable, testable, scalable, and secure code.
  • Help to identify best-of-breed methods / tools / API’s and assess technical fit
  • Provide task estimates, level of complexity assessment
  • Provide input to scheduling of projects
  • Ensure tasks get executed on time and to required standards
  • Pass on knowledge of various technologies to other team members and to other functions

Education (preferred):
Bachelor’s degree Computer Science (or related discipline), or equivalent work experience

Knowledge/Experience (preferred):

  • Experience in Java , Spring and Hibernate technologies & RESTful services
  • Experience developing fine-grained services using modern Java EE frameworks (Spring Boot/Spring Cloud etc.)
  • Experience with UI/Web technologies (Angular, React, JQuery, NextJS, Groovy/Grails)
  • Experience with testing tools such as Junit/Mockito/Springboot Test
  • Excellent knowledge of OOD principles
  • Discipline of working in a continuous integration, TDD environment.
  • Experience with Web Based applications and Cloud services
  • Experienced in delivering commercial grade software globally
  • Extensive experience in Agile development with strong Technical Architecture skills.
  • Has been pro-active in creating better user experience, consumer value proposition
  • Understands gaps in knowledge and has ability to source training online
