As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, test, deploy, and support features that enable confidential computing for Azure customers primarily focusing on Performance analysis, improvements and enhancements. You will help customers achieve the highest levels of privacy and security by delivering technology and solutions that protect data in use, complementing existing protections for data at rest and in transit. Responsibilities Identify and address performance issues related to delivering confidential computing solutions. Find performance opportunities for improvement through internal testing as well as by working directly with Azure internal and external customers to understand their use cases. Collaborate with teams across Microsoft and with external partners to deliver performance optimizations for our customers. Ensures appropriate continuous feedback loops measuring customer value, usage patterns, and other actionable metrics of value are incorporated. Develops reusable code and leverages existing code and tools Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation. Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. Shares learnings and identified solutions from investigations with the team and owns for some design decisions. Performance-related computer architecture concepts, including page translation, caching, I/O subsystems, memory subsystems, virtualization, NUMA optimizations, voltage/frequency scaling, and power states. System software performance tuning, including compiler optimizations, operating system scheduling, hypervisors, memory management, and BIOS configurations. Benchmarking using industry standard and purpose-built workloads, including SPEC suites, TPC components, Redis, NGINX, and similar workloads. 1+ year(s) of experience demonstrating: Ability to quickly learn new technologies Working effectively in an agile development environment #azurecorejobs Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
