Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We are hiring a Software Development Engineer II to join the Azure Data team, where you will be working on a large-scale distributed operational database. In this role, you will work on practical challenges related to distributed systems that support a scalable operational database. The team is transforming Microsoft Fabric from an analytics platform into a comprehensive data platform by bringing SQL Database into the Microsoft Fabric offering, enabling users to access analytics and operational capabilities across Microsoft’s data ecosystem. We are a team of engineers focused on building the user-facing components of our service, including both client-side interfaces and backend APIs. Our goal is to deliver a reliable, intuitive, and consistent user experience for developers, database administrators, and solution architects. As a Full Stack Engineer on this team, you will collaborate with other engineering teams across the SQL organization to design and implement end-to-end solutions. You’ll work closely with product managers and UX designers to shape the direction of the service, and contribute to a team culture that values inclusiveness, collaboration, and customer focus.
