Collins Aerospace’s Strategic Solutions team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Mission Systems.
Our Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. Our software engineers utilize a variety of skills on a regular basis including requirements analysis, development and delivery of high-quality mission critical software. This position will support the shaping of the future of NC3 defense systems for the armed forces. This position is located onsite in Richardson, TX.

What You Will Do:

• You will team up with a high-performance software team, collaborating with fellow Software engineers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Software Architects, and other teams.
• You will support requirements decomposition and derivation to produce Software Requirements.
• You will participate in the design of the capabilities producing UML and SysML diagrams.
• You will be responsible for producing high quality mission critical software.
• You will participate in code and related artifacts peer reviews.
• You will create test cases.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• 1+ years professional experience with Object Oriented Development using Java with the ability to create complex software designs based on customer’s requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
• Experience/Understanding UML, SysML, MBSE and CAMEO Modeling tools.
• Experience/Understanding requirements analysis, requirements decomposition and derivation.
• Understanding virtualization.
• Understanding microservices, containers and orchestrators.
• Understanding OMS.
• Understanding DevSecOps and CI/CD.
• Understanding pub/subs bus such as ActiveMQ, DDS.
• Understanding Agile SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• Understanding Graphical User Interfaces with Java frameworks, such as Swing or JavaFx.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
