Analyzes and defines software requirements to determine specifications and standards. Proposes software solutions. Determines the cost of new and modified systems and engages in the proposal process. Develops, designs and edits original applications or modifies third-party applications. Tests and approves applications. Trains users and writes training manuals. Manages user support and feedback. May specialize in one or more areas of development, including network, operating systems, databases or applications.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent Java programming skills
  • Have worked in a commercial software development 4+years and have an appreciation of the realities of commercial software development
  • The ability to write well documented, maintainable and testable code
  • Ideally have worked in a scrum/agile development team
  • Be innovative and enjoy working with emerging technology and creating solutions using such
  • Practical experience of any of the following is a plus:
  • Big data technologies
  • Data engineering
  • AWS/Cloud
  • Build/release tools
  • Unit test or continuous integration frameworks
  • Java UI technologies
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques and technologies
  • Able to work within a collaborative team environment containing local and remote team members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite skills

Responsibilities:

  • Development of core D&B software systems using a variety of technical stacks and delivered via multiple channels.
  • Working in cross-functional teams ,develop features end-to-end across the software stack.
  • Adherence to defined quality and other processes.
  • Write elegant, simple code that lends itself to low cost maintenance, extensibility, testability and performance.
  • Provide support to peers within the local and off-shore teams.
  • Take on delivery responsibilities outside of development as needed.
