  The Product Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of software development and transition to production for Warner Pacific’s suite of proprietary applications.  As a member of a Product Engineering team, you will partner with your peers within your function or program. You practice professional verbal and written communication skills. You contribute to technical documentation for the work of your team. You code with testability and readability in mind.  You understand Warner Pacific’s core values and demonstrate them through your behaviors.  Expectations * Understand the business model, goals and strategies of the organization and express the value of the products you develop in terms of those. * Develop and document software products that constantly deliver value to the organization. * Create and execute unit tests for the software you develop. * Perform essential functional tests (smoke-check) of the software developed by you and by other members of your team (peer review). * Work within your function (or program) and interface in cross-program relationships (building relationships with other teams to further knowledge or as stakeholder). * Contribute to cross-functional / large company projects. * Provide regular updates and incorporate input within each project. * Own small functionally specific projects. * Participate in your team’s communication channels, meetings and ceremonies. * Communicate any risk and issues you identify to your team lead and the department’s executive leadership. * Share Industry, Organization and Technical knowledge with other members of the team. * Treat all employees and customers fairly and with respect and communicate with other employees consistently in a dignified, positive fashion to encourage and achieve maximum performance results while earning respect and admiration of co-workers. * Lead by example, understand, and comply with all policies and procedures, including those regarding punctuality, attendance, harassment and discrimination prevention. * Embrace change with a positive attitude and to motivate others in the department to do the same. * Demonstrate consistent, outstanding judgment, honesty and integrity in all aspects of job performance.  Requirements * Experience in modern (Agile) Software Development methodologies. * Experience in the legacy (C#, Java/JavaScript/TypeScript/Python development, performance best practices, efficient use of data stores, caching, etc.) and target (React, Containerized applications, Serverless architecture, Cloud-based services) technology stacks. * Ability to consistently write functions that are easily testable, easily understood by other developers, and accounts for edge cases and errors.  * Ability to use docstrings effectively and/or use a systematic approach to debug issues located within a single service. * Ability to be part of the on-call rotation, when applicable. * Ability to understand a portion of the team's domain and be able to gain sufficient context to work productively in that portion. * Ability to be proficient in at least one large area of the codebase (i.e., quoting, enrollment, operations) with a high-level understanding of other components. * Ability to follow code into production and monitor where appropriate as well as consistently follow team coding patterns. * Demonstrated interest in understanding the business model of the organization. * Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to occasionally work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by senior management. * Basic time management skills. * Strong analytical skills. * Ability to work without constant supervision. * Assertiveness in reaching out to others to ask questions related to your work. * Outcome oriented. * Demonstrated ability to remain calm in pressure situations. * Demonstrated ability to multi-task. * Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Compensation  * Annual Salary Range*: $90,000 - $120,000 per year * Actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level. * * The salary range is the range Warner Pacific in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.  No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable under the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans.
