Position Title: Software Engineer II Location: Fairfax, VA 22031 Work Arrangement: Hybrid Position Summary DZYNE Technologies is looking for a Software Engineer II to take on the development and testing of ground control station (GCS) software. The ideal candidate is a junior- to mid-level professional with 3+ years of experience who will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality software systems, with a particular focus on ground control station software. The role involves building reliable, scalable applications that support mission-critical operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and participating throughout the full software development lifecycle. Required Duties and Responsibilities: * Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services * Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features * Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in Python or Go, building new features and optimizing existing services (e.g., APIs, backend services) * Manage source code and branching strategies using Git and Gitflow * Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance * Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making * Support CI/CD processes and deployment workflows Required Skills/Qualifications: * 3-7 years of professional software engineering experience * Proficiency in Go and/or Python * Proficiency with Git and Gitflow * Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and code quality standards * Experience building and maintaining production-grade applications * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively * Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) Preferred Skills/Qualifications: * Exposure to message queuing systems (e.g., ZeroMQ, RabbitMQ) * Experience with Protobuffers and message serialization libraries * Experience with APIs and microservices * Experience with Java, C/C++, or other high level programming languages * Experience with full-stack development and modern web frameworks (Node.js) * Exposure to DevOps practices and automated testing Education: * B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent time and experience in the industry Clearance Level Required: None required Travel Required: Up to 10% Working Conditions: The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to warehouse and other facilities. Work Authorization Requirement: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship. Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 annually Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
