Job responsibilities * Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting for applications and systems * Write secure, high-quality code using at least one programming language * Design, develop, and troubleshoot with consideration for upstream and downstream technical implications * Apply tools within the Software Development Life Cycle to improve automation and value * Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to support secure, stable application development * Learn and apply system processes and methodologies for developing secure, stable code and systems Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills * Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience * Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability * Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming and database querying languages * Ability to code in Java, Scala, or Python * Experience with Big Data and Apache Spark * Experience in cloud data processing on AWS EMR * Experience as a data engineer on Databricks * Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills * Familiarity with feature engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning * Exposure to modern front-end technologies * Experience with cloud technologies * Emerging knowledge of technical processes within a technical discipline
