Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Perform research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. Design the program flow of individual pieces of code, and perform coding and unit testing. Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize software requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of software system components. Work closely with other software development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs. Implement software development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Operate in various software development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. Resolve technical issues as necessary, keep abreast of new technology developments, and complete bug fixes. Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field required.
  • 3 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.
  • Also required is: 3 years of experience: in enterprise web application development using Java/J2EE to build, maintain, and optimize robust and scalable web applications; in enterprise web application development using Angular to design and develop interactive web applications using two-way data binding, application state management, and establishing asynchronous communication with web application servers using REST APIs and HTTP requests; in enterprise web application development utilizing HTML to design and develop user interfaces for web applications; in enterprise web application development using PL/SQL to develop, manage, and optimize database interactions for web application servers using Data Definition Language (DDL), Data Manipulation Language (DML), stored procedures, triggers and transactions management; and in enterprise web application development using Oracle to create and manage databases to persist and organize business data securely for web application servers.
  • Employee reports to Elsevier, Inc. office in Maryland Heights, MO but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.
  • Experience can be concurrent.
