Description & Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to manage and enhance our Cloudsuite Desertion ERP application. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the OpenEdge development environment as well ambition to learn other modern web platforms land deployments in AWS. This role demands deep expertise in OpenEdge architecture, 4GL/ABL development, and a proactive approach to ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance.

A day in the life typically Includes:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Progress OpenEdge ABL/4GL.
• Administer and optimize Progress OpenEdge databases, including installation, configuration, tuning, and monitoring.
• Ensure high availability, backup, and disaster recovery planning of OpenEdge environments.
• Perform data migration, transformation, and integration between systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of application and database issues.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to best practices.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements for data and system integrity.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in Progress OpenEdge development and database administration.
• OpenEdge ABL/4GL, AppServer, PASOE, and Progress tools.
• Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and system troubleshooting.
• Experience with Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RESTful web services or API integrations.
• Modern front-end technologies like Angular
• Experience with cloud-based deployments Kubernetes and Docker
