ABOUT THE ROLE:

Grade Level (for internal use): 03
There are opportunities across various infrastructure teams for those starting their careers as a Software Engineer at Kensho, including Site Reliability and Security. These teams are responsible for building systems and frameworks that are leveraged engineering-wide. Regardless of which team is ultimately the right fit, you can expect to find common best practices, languages, and tooling, providing good long-term opportunities for internal mobility and career development.
As a software engineer on the Infrastructure team at Kensho you will be responsible for building systems and frameworks that will be used by developers across the organization. You will be working on a team with experienced engineers and have an opportunity to learn and grow. You will have a birds eye view of the breadth of projects that are being worked on in the organization and be able to see all your work being integrated into the SDLC workflow immediately.
Kensho is committed to offering hybrid and flexible work arrangements that balance both in-office and remote work. This approach allows us to accommodate personal circumstances while ensuring strong collaboration and productivity.
Kensho states that the anticipated base salary range for the position is 120k - 140k. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus and equity plans. At Kensho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This opportunity is based in Cambridge, MA or New York City.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Work with other teams and departments, such as ML and Apps, to build reliable systems
Leverage regularly sanctioned time (Knowledge Days!) for continuous learning and exploration beyond our day-to-day work
Design core, backend software components that powers the Kensho language models and other products
Build tools to empower the engineering teams
Code using primarily python, jsonnet, and other languages
Collaborate with other teams to gather requirements and support their workflows
Conduct architecture, design and code reviews
Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources

OUR PURPOSE:

Progress is not a self-starter. It requires a catalyst to be set in motion. Information, imagination, people, technology–the right combination can unlock possibility and change the world.
Our world is in transition and getting more complex by the day. We push past expected observations and seek out new levels of understanding so that we can help companies, governments and individuals make an impact on tomorrow. At S&P Global we transform data into Essential Intelligence®, pinpointing risks and opening possibilities. We Accelerate Progress.
