We are seeking a motivated Intermediate C++ Software Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design and development of core software applications that power our autonomous vehicle systems. You’ll work closely with senior engineers while taking ownership of your own projects and modules across the full software development lifecycle in a dynamic, innovative environment. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 3–5 years of commercial experience in C++ software development. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and software design principles. Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset. A genuine interest in robotics, autonomous systems, and emerging technologies. Desirable (but not essential) Experience developing in a Linux environment. Experience with Python, ROS (Robot Operating System), or embedded systems. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or containerization (Docker). Previous experience in robotics, aerospace, or real-time software systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and test software applications for autonomous vehicle systems. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate software with mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C++ code following best practices. Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback. Debug, profile, and optimize software for performance and reliability. Contribute to maintaining structured Git repositories and build systems. Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and industry standards. Location: This position is an office based role based in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand.
