Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The technical implementation department is seeking a Java Developer to support our efforts for configuration and customisation of our software solutions for domestic and international enterprise customers. This role joins a dynamic team that is focused on the successful delivery of our GIS-based optimisation and automation tools for planning of Fiber Networks. Our flexible scheduling and outstanding benefits support success in a highly creative, innovative, and energetic company.
As an integral part of the IQGeo implementation services team located in Belgium, the successful candidate will contribute to customising and implementing IQGeo products to our customers in the Telecommunications markets.

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints
  • Develop and implement features where you will
  • Use the available code base to start from
  • Create new algorithms and implement the customers’ requirements
  • Be part of one of our Scrum teams, where teamwork and continuous improvement are essential
  • Review and test implemented features and providing corresponding feedback to other team members

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • You have excellent programming skills in Java or another object-oriented language.
  • You have experience writing clean code that performs well at scale using Java
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
  • Capable of working alone, as part of a team, and on multiple, concurrent projects
  • You have an interest in network planning, more specifically for telecom (Fibre) networks and you are excited to continuously follow the state-of-the-art in these domains.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of comparable technology and industry experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a software developer, preferably within Scrum and Agile Software development teams.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
