Engineers are expected to identify dependencies, evaluate cross-system impacts, and align with stakeholders throughout the development process. Our environment prioritizes clean, maintainable code and consistent use of sound engineering principles. This includes reviewing and validating all work, including AI-assisted outputs, to ensure accuracy and reliability prior to integration. Our technology stack includes Java, Spring Framework, microservices, RESTful APIs, cloud-based infrastructure, and modern frontend and platform tools. KEY ATTRIBUTES Successful candidates consistently demonstrate the following: * Strong command of software design principles, building scalable, maintainable solutions and making sound decisions in complex systems * Write clean, readable code, consistently applying principles such as DRY and SOLID * Maintain a disciplined approach to development, using testing and code review to deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes * Use strong critical thinking to navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities, and cross-system dependencies * Take ownership of solution quality, validating work thoroughly and thoughtfully incorporating new approaches and technologies, such as AI, where they add clear value   EDUCATION High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A degree in computer science, software engineering or related field is preferred. PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND Minimum 10 years of professional software development experience, including: * Developing software using Java, object-oriented programming, microservices architecture, Spring Framework, RESTful services, and database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL) * Writing, reviewing, testing, and validating code with accountability for correctness, performance, scalability, and maintainability * Applying critical thinking and sound engineering judgment to evaluate system-wide impacts, including dependencies and cross-system interactions * Delivering within complex software environments, including large-scale implementation and integration efforts * Working with agile development methodologies, version control systems, test-driven development, and automated testing.
