We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join our client, a leading company in the renewable energy sector, based in Düsseldorf.

You will play an important role in developing and enhancing software solutions that support the transition towards a more sustainable energy future. Working as part of an agile engineering team, you will build reliable, scalable applications that help manage and optimise complex energy processes and infrastructure.This is an excellent opportunity for a software engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems and wants to work on technology with a tangible impact on the energy transition.

• Your ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and integrate REST APIs and microservices
• Develop high-quality, maintainable and well-tested software
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, product owners and other technical stakeholders
• Contribute to architectural and technical decisions
• Write unit, integration and automated tests
• Troubleshoot, analyse and resolve technical issues
• Participate in code reviews and continuously improve development standards
• Work within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD processes and development tooling
• Help develop digital solutions that support renewable energy generation, management and optimisation

• Your ProfileSeveral years of professional experience in Java software development
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot and REST APIs
• Experience developing microservices and distributed applications
• Good understanding of software architecture and design principles
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle
• Familiarity with automated testing and tools such as JUnit, Mockito or similar
• Experience with Git and modern CI/CD practices
• Ideally, experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or GCP
• Comfortable working in an agile development environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team
• Fluent English; German is a strong advantage
