Full-Stack Software Engineer – Java & React

Location: Amsterdam – 2 days per week onsite

Duration: 6 months, with possibility to extend

Rate: €95–€100 per hour

A leading global technology organisation is looking for an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer to join an established engineering team on an initial six-month contract.

This is a genuinely full-stack position, working across React on the front end and Java on the back end. Strong commercial experience with BOTH Java and React is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain front-end applications using React.
• Build and enhance back-end services using Java.
• Deliver clean, reusable and maintainable production code.
• Take end-to-end ownership of applications and services, from development through to deployment and production.
• Build and maintain automated tests alongside production code.
• Monitor application health, performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and carry out root cause analysis.
• Contribute to software architecture and system design.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and engineering processes.

Key Requirements:

• Strong commercial Java development experience – MUST HAVE.
• Strong commercial React experience – MUST HAVE.
• Proven experience working in a genuine full-stack engineering role.
• Experience building and supporting production applications and services.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, clean code and automated testing.
• Experience with deployment and production support.
• Good understanding of system design and software architecture.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work 2 days per week onsite in Amsterdam.
