We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong data engineering experience to support the migration of our legacy loan servicing system and to drive ongoing development and maintenance of our loan servicing and trading platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in loan servicing, data, modern tech stacks (APIs, automation, CI/CD, observability, genAI), and hands-on experience with tools like SQL, Databricks, AWS Glue, Python, and OutSystems.
This role requires expertise in building robust data pipelines, a deep understanding of the financial services industry, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that power our mission-critical lending operations.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in data and/or software engineering, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of loan servicing systems, or equivalent experience with fixed income products, debt instruments, or bonds.
  • Experience with SQL and data pipeline tools like AWS Glue or Databricks required.
  • Experience with Python required.
  • Proficiency in modern tech stacks including APIs, automation, observability, and CI/CD required; experience with Kong preferred.
  • Familiarity with low-code platforms such as OutSystems.
  • Experience with data governance and security practices.

SKILLS:

  • Strong SQL skills and data modeling expertise.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI , Sigma BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of data science concepts and techniques.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
  • Data Migration and Integration: Assist in migrating the current legacy loan servicing system, ensuring seamless data integration and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Platform Development and Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures for the loan servicing and trading platform, leveraging modern technologies such as APIs, automation, and observability tools.
  • Data Engineering: Develop and optimize data pipelines using tools like AWS Glue and Databricks, ensuring high data quality and efficient processing.
  • Observability & Automation: Implement data observability tools and develop monitoring strategies for data quality, latency, and integrity.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure all data handling aligns with regulatory and compliance requirements, with a focus on access control and encryption.
  • Collaboration: Partner with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions and insights.
  • AI & Efficiency Tools: Use GenAI and automation frameworks to streamline development, testing, and debugging of data workflows.
