Description:

To strengthen our IT team, we are looking for a committed software Engineer (m/f/d) with a focus on implementation of business processes in our workflow engine.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • You have a degree in (business) information technology or a comparable qualification.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of current Java enterprise technologies such as Spring, JPA/Hibernate, JUnit. Knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g. Angular, Typescript) would help the team but is not a must.
  • You should be familiar with current development environments and tools (IntelliJ, Git, Maven, Docker and Jira).
  • You have expertise in agile software development in distributed teams.
  • Knowledge of process modeling with BPMN is an advantage.
  • Experience with writing automated tests is a plus (e.g. Cucumber).
  • You are willing to get in depth knowledge of Airfreight logistics.
  • We are an international team, so you should be comfortable speaking English.

Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE

As a Software Engineer, you are part of our multi-disciplinary product team within the Air Logistics business unit. You design and implement processes in Java and BPMN. You follow the principles of agile software development and create innovative solutions. You are in close contact with the product owner and other colleagues from the airfreight business unit and continuously contribute to process optimization.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Your specific task will be to implement business processes in our workflow engine Camunda based on BPMN standards.
  • You will actively participate in design discussions within the product team and with process specialists from our Airfreight organization. To do so, you will acquire the necessary knowledge about our Airfreight logistics operations.
  • You are involved in the continuous optimization and stabilization of our existing processes.
  • As a software developer, you consciously engage with the way you work. This means you reflect on the product, the tools and methods. In doing so, you adhere to the principles and practices of clean code development.
  • You will also evaluate new technologies and provide advice to colleagues.
  • You’ll also take part in maintaining our automated tests.
