SOFTWARE ENGINEER

• This is an in-office position - only candidates located in or near the Omaha, Nebraska area will be considered. Salary range available upon request.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Metro Credit Union is a member-focused financial institution dedicated to delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to our community. We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software applications that support Metro Credit Union’s operations. The successful candidate will work closely with IT professionals and Management to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions, including e-banking and mobile banking platforms. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to meet the evolving needs of our members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in React JavaScript, .NET programming with C# and ASP.NET or similar development language.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Proficiency in SQL Server, including writing complex queries and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum or similar software development methodologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Additional qualifying experience in Python, Java, C++, PHP, mobile app development (iOS/Android), modern web frameworks (e.g., Perl, Angular, Node.js, Ruby, Django), or enterprise software platforms (e.g., Pascal, Basic) is considered a plus.
• Prior employment in banking or financial services industries a plus.

• Develop and maintain robust software applications using but not limited to React JavaScript, Node.js, .NET Framework/.NET Core, C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.
• Develop banking applications that interface with APIs and other infrastructure.
• Continually learn and adapt to new programming languages and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT and Management to define requirements and develop solutions that support organizational objectives.
• Build and enhance web-based applications, including e-banking and mobile banking platforms, ensuring seamless user experiences.
• Diagnose and resolve software issues reported by end-users, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including application designs, code comments, and user guides.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold software quality, security, and adherence to coding standards.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements to software development processes.
