Software Engineer IV – Contractor (3–6 Months)
Location: Fenton, MO (Onsite Tuesday–Thursday)
Pay Rate: $74.00/hour (non-negotiable)
Engagement: 3–6 month contract with extension possibility (not contract-to-hire)

Requirements: 6–7+ years of U.S. software engineering experience
Clear communication skills Backend heavy: Java, Spring, Spring Boot GCP Cloud (must have)Bitbucket repositories OCI Databases Ability to work independently and troubleshoot effectively Senior-level engineering skills (not an Architect role)Work closely with Architect to help define solutions for existing applications
Primary Responsibilities: Communicate fluently in writing and speech, able to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborate with stakeholders, plan and monitor work, and mentor junior engineers. Rapidly absorb new technical information and apply it effectively. Identify and update knowledge bases, produce architectural documentation, and recommend system enhancements. Perform complex development and technical work across multiple contexts. Investigate, define, and resolve complex issues, including occasional after-hours support.
Provide technical leadership to support strategic initiatives and advise on standards, tools, and applications.
Qualifications: BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)8+ years’ experience developing software with web application frameworks, OOP languages, functional programming, design patterns, and secure coding8+ years’ experience building scalable web applications and REST services
Expertise with security (OAuth, SAML, OWASP top 10)Expertise with DevOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing)Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, ACID concepts, data retrieval, search, and performance tuning Strong troubleshooting and attention to detail
