Job Description The Syndicated Lab team is part of the Media Measurement Engineering Hub in Sofia, which belongs to GfK’s global Media Measurement technology organization. The team contributes to an agile, proprietary software development program supporting media measurement solutions worldwide. Media Measurement is a GfK division specializing in the collection, processing, and reporting of media KPIs for Media Agencies, Publishers, JICs, and Advertisers. We cover the full spectrum of media channels—from traditional media such as TV, Radio, and Print to digital media, where we provide insights into population digital behavior, evaluate digital campaign performance, and deliver a wide range of digital metrics. The Syndicated Lab team operates on the digital side of the business and focuses on the Recombine phase of the KPI delivery process. In addition to developing new solutions, the team supports daily data production and provides 2nd- and 3rd-level support for the components it owns. We are looking for a Software Engineer who will contribute to the development of new components as well as the maintenance and improvement of existing ones. Key Activities: Support the software development and optimization of data processing and ETL workflows Work on software components that include data transformation workflows and data integration services Apply an end-to-end view and focus on overall data integrity and data flow rather than closed software components Support QA tests covering data transformation components and workflows Maintain a clear understanding of the relevant domain models, integration points and evolution lifecycles Maintain good overview of (and consult the teams on) database technologies used by the applications Document and handover new and changed applications to end users Qualifications Required skills and knowledge: 2+ years of software development experience Experience with data processing pipelines, workflow scheduling like Airflow and ETL tooling in general Expert knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, Pandas Good understanding of AWS and/or Azure, GCP, Data warehouse Experience with version control systems such as Git Experience with Software testing and CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab) Strong communication skills Fluent level of English language, both written and spoken Optional Skills and knowledge: Containerization with Docker Experience with BI/Dashboarding tools such as Grafana, Tableau Experience with databases like MySQL, MSSQL and PostgreSQL Agile development in general and scaling agile frameworks like Less or SAFe in particular First experience in handling of PII data Additional Information Our Benefits Flexible working environment Volunteer time off LinkedIn Learning Employee-Assistance-Program (EAP) NIQ may utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools at various stages of the recruitment process, including résumé screening, candidate assessments, interview scheduling, job matching, communication support, and certain administrative tasks that help streamline workflows.
