The role focuses on performance optimization, backup and recovery, security, and database maintenance while collaborating with developers to ensure reliable, secure, and high‑performing database systems. Roles & Responsibilities * Install, configure, and maintain database instances across development, testing, and production environments * Monitor and optimize database performance * Manage database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures using SQL Server Backup/Restore and maintenance plans * Implement and monitor jobs, alerts, and notifications * Perform regular index maintenance, statistics updates, and query performance tuning * Create and manage T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and triggers * Ensure data integrity, availability, and security by implementing access controls and auditing policies * Assist in database design, normalization, and data modeling with developers * Maintain documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices * Support upgrades and patching of SQL Server environments, including migration to newer versions Required Experience / Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field * 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA * Proficient with SQL Server 2016 or later * Strong command of T-SQL and experience writing efficient queries * Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and database monitoring tools * Knowledge of backups, restores, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server * Familiarity with security practices, including authentication, roles, and permissions * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Your Future Working Environment If you join Cedar Gate, you can make great ideas happen for some of the world's most dynamic companies.
