This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer & Open Source Contributor (remote) in India. In this role, you will join a dynamic team focused on contributing to and maintaining open source projects while supporting internal platform development. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, participate in open source communities, and develop your technical expertise in Python, Golang, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures. Your contributions will directly influence the scalability, maintainability, and functionality of software used in real-world cloud environments. This position offers an opportunity to grow as a developer, learn modern development practices, and actively engage with the global open source community in a remote, collaborative setting. \n Accountabilities Collaborate with senior engineers to learn best practices, coding standards, and modern software development techniques. Contribute to open source projects, ensuring high-quality, well-documented, and maintainable code. Design, develop, and maintain software features and backend services using Python and Golang. Assist with integration of open source contributions into internal products and services. Support API development and management using JSON and YAML, and participate in containerized application deployment. Engage with the open source community to build relationships, resolve issues, and contribute to software solutions. Participate in Agile processes, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration to drive engineering excellence. Requirements Experience in software development with a focus on Python and/or Golang. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and parallel computing concepts. Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a willingness to learn scale-out architectures. Knowledge or interest in telemetry, observability, and managing Kubernetes clusters (CNI, CSI, k0s, k0smotron). Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote team environment.
