This platform engineering role is focused on building the backend infrastructure that powers products used by millions of users worldwide. You will develop scalable services and APIs that support core platform capabilities, including authentication, payments, subscriptions, analytics, and text-to-speech technologies. Working in a fully distributed engineering organization, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance backend systems. Build and optimize reliable backend systems with a strong focus on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability. Manage and improve the overall backend API ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration across internal services and external developer APIs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy, customer needs, and user experience goals. Develop enterprise-ready backend solutions and integrations to support B2B customers and customized implementations. Contribute to architectural discussions, technical planning, and continuous platform improvements. Help identify and prioritize engineering initiatives that maximize business impact while maintaining high software quality standards. Requirements: Proven professional experience in backend software development using TypeScript and Node.js. Strong experience designing and building scalable RESTful APIs and distributed backend systems. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP); familiarity with AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers is a plus. Strong understanding of backend architecture, scalability, performance optimization, and secure application development. Ability to balance rapid execution with thoughtful technical decision-making in fast-paced environments. Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and product teams. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in fully remote, asynchronous environments. Nice to have: experience with Docker and containerized application development. Nice to have: experience deploying and managing highly available applications on Kubernetes.
