Build and evolve the core platforms behind every visibility product — event ingestion, milestone computation, webhook and notification delivery, scheduled work, and shared APIs used across all modal teams.
Design event-driven systems that process high-throughput carrier data reliably and with low latency.
Own reliability, performance, and scalability of the platforms your team operates.
Building systems in a multi-cloud environment. We use AWS and GCP but value experience in other cloud environments such as Azure.
Partner with modal engineering teams across Ground (FTL, LTL, Parcel, Rail), Ocean, Air, and Orders to expose platform capabilities they can build on.
Share ownership of all facets of software delivery, including development, operations,and test.
You will assume on-call responsibilities for systems (together with the team) that are built and owned by your team.
You will invest in tools, monitoring, and automation to improve on-call experience for everyone on your team.
Qualifications:
5+ years professional experience building large scale and real time or near real time cloud systems.
Strong programming and debugging skills, with proficiency in Java Backend.
Demonstrated experience with systems that operate at high scale — high event throughput, tight latency SLAs, and high availability as first-class design constraints, not stretch goals.
